Cody flying Blue
One of the greatest things you can do with an airplane is teach a kid how it flies. The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) has a program called Young Eagles for just that purpose. It's a really fun way of getting some time in the sky for interested youngsters. The kids get an introduction to how a wing and a rudder work, airplane courtesy, air traffic patterns, and maybe get a new perspective on how to look at the world around them.

Since the controls are all for the front two seats, I try to make it fun for the kids in the back seat by having them spot landmarks like their school, their house, or shopping centers they can recognize. You'd be surprised at how hard it can be to find your own house from above.

All of the kids pictured in our passenger blog are really flying Blue.
